Is Fort Novosel the same as Fort Rucker?
Yes. The post was renamed from Fort Rucker to Fort Novosel in 2023, honoring Chief Warrant Officer Michael Novosel, a Medal of Honor recipient. Many people, and the official BAH military housing area, still use the Fort Rucker name, but the installation and its Army Aviation mission are the same.
